As a Graphic Designer, I focus on mastering the art of communicating a message on behalf of the client to the intended audience in a visual manner. Give me a brief, state the problem or the specific outcome that needs to be achieved and I will collect information and analyze it to arrive at the best solution. My designs solve client’s problems… whether it is how to sell a product or let the world know a product or company exists. I understand that the success of a project is determined by the measurable outcome of what was created, not just how aesthetically pleasing it looks.
I have developed the visual communication skills to achieve the project and client goals. I can produce on virtually any visual medium to communicate a message. I use the design process, design principles, color, typography, graphics, animations and photography that targets print and the screen.
I understand and appreciates that in order to be a successful graphic designer, you must have the passion to be a life-long learner. I use current industry standard software not only for practice but for teaching others. These programs from the Adobe line include Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, InDesign and Flash to name a few. Past explorations have included After Effects for Motion Graphics and Premier for digital video and I am always open to projects that will allow me to revisit these programs. I am an Adobe Certified Associate in Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and Flash. I am proficient in print design that includes Poster design, Branding, and Corporate collateral, to name a few as well as projects that include Web and Multimedia Design.
I am currently attending the Academy of Arts University San Francisco where I am acquiring a second Master’s Degree… this one in Fine Arts with a Graphic Design concentration. Not only is this a world renowned program with exemplary professors and staff, but I appreciate the philosophies that are apparent that seem to be influenced not only by the west coast attitudes and forward thinking but also the eastern Asian influence or school of thought. There is a notable trend or message of designer’s responsibility to design with sustainability in mind for the betterment of today’s and tomorrow’s society. I am happy to bring this knowledge and influence into my projects and interactions with colleagues or students.
